Welcome to Volume 47 of the Vet Gazette!

As the 2011-12 school year is beginning (or a midpoint, depending on your curriculum), it's a good time for reflection on where you are- just beginning that first year of vet school adventures, in the midst of your  clinical rotations, or somewhere in between.

To the Class of 2015- Welcome!  To me my journey over the past few years has been a roller coaster at times but the people around me helps keep me going. I would like to think that The Vet Gazette can be a resource to help you, my fellow students, connect with each other to share your experiences. This is meant to be a place to get to know what is going on in the veterinary student community so I really depend on you guys for ideas. If you have any suggestions at all about The Vet Gazette on the format or content that you would like to see, please send them to savma.editor@gmail.com

Don't forget to check out the link on the right for "Contests and Awards." This is a great resource for current contests for SAVMA members from our various committees. And there's a lot of prize money out there!

Archives of The Vet Gazette can be viewed at: http://www.avma.org/savma/vetgazette/default.asp

Thank you to everyone who continues to support The Vet Gazette with great submissions. Please continue to encourage your classmates who maybe have not read the newsletter before or have never submitted content. You are not just veterinary students; you all have creative sides—don’t be afraid to show them!

Thanks for reading!
